What is Seekmo?
Seekmo is a new way to access free programs and tools to make life a little easier and lots more fun.

Seekmo gives you the ultimate universal access to more than 100,000 pieces of free online content – videos, games, tools and utilities.

Seekmo also offers you cool and attractive email features as Emoticons, Animations, Backgrounds, eCards, Cursors and other enhancing web experience features.

The Seekmo Browser toolbar presents buttons on your Internet Explorer browser that change dynamically while you surf to relate to the website you visit. These buttons also provide you instant access to Search, Videos, Games and much more!

Outlook and Outlook Express users enjoy a unique email toolbar that offers a wide assortment of options for customizing the design of your emails with Backgrounds, eCards, Emoticons and Animations.

How can I install Seekmo?
To install Seekmo simply go to: http://www.seekmo.com/downloads/searchassistant.aspx Click on the Download link and follow on screen instructions.

If you can’t see the download link it indicates a previous attempt to install Seekmo or related programs.

If this is the case you may try reinstalling Seekmo:

  • Uninstall your current version of Seekmo by clicking the link: http://installs.seekmo.com/downloads/Uninstaller/Uninstaller.exe
    Click 'Run' and follow on-screen instructions.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Install Seekmo by entering: http://www.seekmo.com/downloads/searchassistant.aspx
    Click the Download link and follow on-screen instructions.

After the installation process completes, you should have two Seekmo toolbars installed: One on your browser (Internet Explorer) and one on your email program (Outlook/Outlook Express).

If you can't see the Seekmo toolbars, please check if the toolbars are enabled:

Internet Explorer:
Go to View > Toolbars > Make sure Seekmo is checked.

Outlook:
Go to View > Toolbars > Make sure Seekmo is checked.

Outlook Express:
The Outlook Express toolbar can not be hidden.

If you are experiencing problems during the installation, please check if your computer operating system and programs are compatible with Seekmo:

Operating systems: Windows 2000 / XP / Vista
Internet Browsers: Internet Explorer versions 6.0 and 7.0 and Mozilla Firefox version 1.0 and 2.0

*Please note that while you may download Seekmo using FireFox, you can not use the Seekmo toolbar on your FireFox, only on your Internet Explorer. Seekmo Email Toolbar requires Microsoft Outlook 2002 and 2003, and/or Microsoft Outlook Express 5.5 and above.

*Currently Seekmo is incompatible with Outlook 2007, Windows Mail, Yahoo Mail, Windows Live Hotmail and Gmail. Seekmo is also incompatible with Mac OS X.

If your system is compatible with Seekmo, yet you are still experiencing problems installing, please make sure that your Internet Explorer settings allow the Seekmo installation:

  • Open a new session of Internet Explorer
  • Click 'Tools' - 'Internet Options'
  • Click on the 'Security' tab, click the 'Custom Level' button
  • Under the 'Security level for this zone' please lower the bar to 'Medium' by dragging it downwards.
  • There are 5 settings under the heading 'Active X controls and plug-ins':
    • 'Download signed ActiveX controls' should be set to 'Prompt'
    • 'Download unsigned ActiveX controls' should be set to 'Disable'
    • 'Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe' should be set to 'Disable'
    • 'Run activeX controls and plug-ins' must be set to 'Enable' or to 'Prompt'
    • 'Script activeX controls marked safe for scripting' must be set to 'Enable'.
  • Under the 'Downloads' section, 'File download' must be set to 'Enable'.
  • Under the 'Miscellaneous' section, 'Allow meta refresh' must be set to 'Enable'.
  • Click 'Apply' and 'OK' to save changes.
  • Refresh the Web page

How can I remove Seekmo?
To remove Seekmo from your computer, please do the following:
  • Go to Start menu
  • Select Control Panel then Add or Remove Programs
  • Select ‘Seekmo Browser and Wowpapers Tools’ component from the list
  • Click Change/Remove and check the components you wish to remove, click Next and follow on-screen instructions.
  • Restart your computer
Alternatively, you can use our uninstaller:
  • Click on the following link - http://installs.seekmo.com/downloads/Uninstaller/Uninstaller.exe
  • Click 'Run' and follow on-screen instructions
  • Restart your computer.

My Seekmo toolbar disappeared, what can I do?
First, please note that while you may download Seekmo using FireFox, you can not use the Seekmo toolbar on your FireFox, only on your Internet Explorer.

If you are using Internet Explorer browser, please check if the Seekmo toolbar is hidden:

Go to View > Toolbars > Make sure Seekmo is checked.

If you still can’t see your Seekmo toolbar, please do the following:

  • Open a new session of Internet Explorer
  • Click the Tools tab and then Manage Add-ons
  • Under the Disabled list, you may find Seekmo related items
  • Click each of the items and choose Enable in the Settings section below, then click OK
  • Close and reopen your browser and Seekmo toolbar should be enabled

I can’t watch a Seekmo video, what can I do?
Problems watching the Seekmo videos may occur due to several issues:

Compatibility:

Please note that Seekmo is compatible with the following:
* Operating systems: Windows 2000/XP/Vista
* Internet Browsers: Internet Explorer versions 6.0 and 7.0 and Mozilla Firefox version 1.0 and 2.0

Browser Settings:

Watching Seekmo videos might require changing some of your Internet Explorer browser settings:

  • Open a new internet explorer window and choose Tools
  • From the Tools menu choose Internet Options
  • Click on the 'Security' tab
  • Under the 'Security level for this zone' please lower the bar to Medium by dragging it downwards.
  • Click on the 'Custom Level' button:
    • Under Security costume level - 'run activeX controls and plug-ins' must be set to enable or to prompt
    • Security costume level - 'Script activeX controls marked safe for scripting' must be set to enable.
    • Security costume level - 'File download' must be set to enable.
    • Security costume level - 'Allow meta refresh' must be set to enable.
  • Click Apply and OK to save changes.
  • Refresh the Web page

Media Players:

Seekmo related videos can be in Windows Media Player format or in Quick Time format. If one of these programs is not installed on your computer, you might not be able to watch all Seekmo related videos. As soon as you have both players, all movies will automatically open when you click the "Watch" button.

How can I hide the Seekmo Toolbar, how can I make it reappear?
You can toggle the toolbar on and off by opening a new session of Internet Explorer. Go to View > Toolbars > Uncheck Seekmo if you wish to hide it and check if you wish Seekmo to reappear.

Is Seekmo Spyware?
Absolutely not!

Seekmo is a safe and secure program and is tested daily to make sure it is always safe.

Seekmo is downloaded and installed only upon user's knowledge and consent. The user is provided with a notice that Seekmo is about to be installed, and required to give an active consent to its installation (and its Terms of Use) by clicking an acceptance button.

Seekmo can only be installed by agreeing to our End User License Agreement, that the user is 18 years of age or older, and that advertisements will be offered in exchange for free access to content.

If you were alerted regarding Seekmo, It is possible that your security program mistakenly included Seekmo on a list which is not the "allow list" and is causing the security alerts you are receiving.

What are the minimum requirements to install and use Seekmo?
Seekmo is compatible with the following:

Yes! You can download and use Seekmo with your Firefox. However, you can not use the Seekmo toolbar on your FireFox, only on your Internet Explorer.

I am using Outlook 2007 but I can’t see the Seekmo email toolbar
Seekmo is not currently compatible with Outlook 2007. Please try using Seekmo with previous versions of Outlook or with web based mail you may be using, such as Hotmail or Yahoo! The Seekmo email Toolbar requires Microsoft Outlook 2000, 2002 and 2003, and/or Microsoft Outlook Express 5.0 and above.

What can I do with Seekmo email Toolbar?
Make your emails vibrant and full of personality. Find these fantastic features in your Seekmo Email toolbar: Backgrounds, eCards Animations, Emoticons, Email notifiers and Cursors.

*Seekmo email toolbar is compatible with Outlook 2002 and 2003 and with Outlook Express.

To add one of theses cool features to your email, compose a new message and click the feature you would like to use. Choose your favorite image and simply click on it. This will automatically download it to your email.

How Can I locate an image in my email?
In order to place images on the specific location you want, place the blinking cursor on the specific location in your email message then insert the image you want to use.

* Please note that the above instructions do not apply to "Backgrounds" or "eCards" categories.

How can I go back to a blank email message?
When you select a background to apply in a new mail, it automatically becomes your default.

If you wish to have a blank background as the default, please click the Clear Email Background button located above the backgrounds collection.

How can I add emoticons and animations to my email?
To add emoticons and animations to your email, compose a new message and click the feature you would like to use. Choose your favorite image and simply click on it. This will automatically download it to your email.

How can I search for emoticons/animations/cursors?
You can easily search for animations or emoticons. A search option is located at the bottom of each category menu. Simply type in the theme you want and click Search.

You can view the animations/emoticons you recently used by clicking the Recently Used category on the top of the category menu.

How can I add email notifier?
In order to add email notifier to your incoming mails please do the following:

1. Open your Outlook/Outlook Express program.
2. Click on the Sound button.
3. Choose the notifier you desire and then click Select.

How can I clear the notifier sound?
In order to remove an email notifier click on the Clear sound option that is located on top of the category menu.

If you have tried the above mentioned and you are still unable to clear your email notifier try the following:

  • Go to the Start menu > Settings > Control Panel
  • Double click on the Sound and Multimedia icon.
  • Under Sounds please go to New Email Notification and browse to choose a notifier to your liking or "none".
  • Click OK.

I can't hear my email notifier, what can I do?
If you were never able to hear the notifier, please do the following according to your email program:

Outlook :

  • Please go to Tools > Options > Preferences > Email Options > Advanced Email options.
  • Check play a sound under When new items arrive in my inbox

Outlook Express :

  • Please go to Tools > Options > General
  • Under Send / Receive messages select Play sound when new messages arrive

If you are still experiencing problems with your email notifier please do the following:

  • Go to the Start menu > Settings > Control Panel
  • Please double click on the Sounds and Audio Devices icon.
  • Click the Sounds tab. Search for New Mail Notification on the list.
  • Click Apply and then OK.
  • Please try to re-apply a Seekmo notifier of your choice.

The promotional signature aims to inform recipients of our special e-mail services and offer them to enjoy our value added e-mail services too. The use of such promotional signature is common amongst software companies that provide e-mail based software and services.
